Rocky-CERCS Crown Cutter PK5 Conical short round diamond

K-DCERCS314016

Rocky CERCS is a short round-end cylinder used for slitting ceramics like zirconia and lithium disilicate.

  • Superior clinical experience. Rocky is 74% sharper* than competing crown cutters, lowering your hand fatigue, reducing the risk of microfractures, and giving you better tactile control.
  • See more patients. Rocky helps you increase your profit without working longer hours because it’s 87% faster* than competing crown cutters.
  • No more burning through burs. Rocky was engineered to last longer than your average crown cutter. It powers through multiple crown removals without dulling, minimizing mid-procedure swaps, reducing overhead, and keeping your day running smoothly.
  • Have a clear posterior view. Rocky is available in short round-end and flat-end cylinders to give you an unobstructed view when slitting posterior crowns.
  • Stay organized. Rocky’s rose-gold shank makes it stand out from other burs, helping you easily identify the right instrument when you’re on a tight schedule.

Directions for Use:

  • In front teeth, cut across the axial surface up to and beyond the incisal edge. For molars, cut along the occlusal surface to simply break the crown open
  • Adhesive crowns can be opened piece by piece with crown dilating forceps. Start in the cervical region – as far as you can – and then remove further fragments step by step, working in an incisal or occlusal direction.
  • Grind down any remaining fragments with the long-tapered chamfer shaped Rocky.
  • Optimal speed: 160,000 rpm
  • Always work with sufficient cooling (at least 50 ml/min)
  • Do not exceed a maximum contact pressure of 2N
  • We recommend reducing the speed to 120,000 rpm when working on alloys that make instruments “skip”. Alternatively, you can work with a dental turbine at low contact pressure.
  • For an optimum cutting performance, apply the instrument to the crown/ filling at an angle of 45°
